Poland's Ministry of Sport announces infrastructure funding
Poland's Minister of Sport and Tourism, Jakub Rutnicki, has announced several funding allocations for sports infrastructure development across different regions.
In Kraków, the Pontifical University of John Paul II has received 25 million PLN from the Ministry to construct a new sports hall at its Ruczaj campus. The project is expected to take approximately three years. Notably, the ministry has requested that the underground levels of such facilities be designed to serve as emergency shelters, a measure intended to increase national security and preparedness.
In the Tarnowskie Góry County, 1,308,000 PLN has been allocated for the modernization of two school gymnasiums at the Stanisław Staszic Secondary School and the Mechanik Polytechnic School Complex. Of this total, 785,203 PLN is provided by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, with the remainder covered by the local county budget. The renovations include flooring, electrical installations, lighting, and new sports equipment. Additionally, funding has been granted for a skatepark in Tarnowskie Góry and infrastructure in the town of Kalety.
