Poland expands free mammography mobile units to multiple towns

Poland's National Health Fund (NFZ) is offering free mammography screenings for women aged 45–74 through a series of mobile "mammobus" units. The programme, run by Geneva Trust Polska, requires no referral and patients can register online or by phone.

The mobile units are scheduled to visit several locations: Cedry Wielkie (June 26, 2026) near the Żuławski Cultural and Sports Centre, Warsaw’s Ursynów district (July 3, 2024) at the district office parking, and Jarocin (July 24, 2024) at the Aquapark parking lot. Similar visits are planned in other Polish towns.

The initiative aims to increase participation in breast‑cancer screening, which currently sees only about one‑third of eligible women taking part. Regular mammography is shown to cut breast‑cancer mortality by 25‑30% for women aged 50‑69. The service is fully funded by the NFZ and free to eligible women every two years.
