Poland's mObywatel app adds Sanepid reporting for sanitary violations

The Polish government has launched a new “Public health hazards” service in the mObywatel mobile application. Citizens can now submit a report to the State Sanitary Inspection (Sanepid) directly from their smartphones, attaching photos or video evidence. The feature covers issues such as unsafe food preparation, unhygienic hotel pools, poor workplace or school conditions, water quality problems and more.

To use the service, users select a category, provide a brief description and upload documentation. Reports are routed to Sanepid in the same way as they were previously submitted through the e‑Sanepid online portal. The function became available to all users on 30 June 2026, requiring app version 4.85.0 or higher and an active mDowód. It is part of a broader digitalisation programme that will introduce 36 new functions to mObywatel during 2025‑2026, aiming to simplify citizen interaction with public administration.
