Poland's MSWiA to pay TVP over 5 million PLN for civil defense content

The Polish Ministry of the Interior and Administration (MSWiA) has entered into an agreement to pay Telewizja Polska (TVP) over 5 million PLN to promote civil defense and safety knowledge during morning programming. The content aims to educate citizens on emergency responses, such as how to react to alarms and where to find shelter during a crisis.

Media experts have raised concerns regarding the financial arrangement, noting that such safety information should ideally be part of the public broadcaster's core mission and funded through its existing budget. Critics argue that since both the ministry and the broadcaster are state institutions, the transaction represents a redundant use of taxpayer funds to pay for services that should be provided as a public service.
