Poland's National Health Fund and KPO projects spark debate on health financing and innovation

Patient representatives from across Poland gathered at the National Health Fund (NFZ) headquarters in Warsaw to discuss the Fund's financial strain, the impact on service availability, and delays in publishing consumer‑focused quality indicators. NFZ officials emphasized that funding rules are set by legislation and highlighted budget constraints affecting diagnostic and treatment queues.

In parallel, the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy hosted a national conference on Krajowy Plan Odbudowy (KPO) health projects, focusing on cutting‑edge cancer therapies such as CAR‑T, TCR‑T, and targeted treatments for bladder cancer. The event culminated in an agreement to create an Academic Network of ATMP Production Laboratories, aimed at strengthening Poland's capacity to develop and manufacture advanced medical products.
