Poland's National Health Fund offers up to 700 zł refund for glasses

To qualify, patients must have health insurance, obtain a prescription from an ophthalmologist, and purchase lenses at an optical salon that has a contract with the NFZ. The refund applies only to the lenses—frames must be paid for privately—and is limited to a maximum of 350 zł per lens, with a co‑payment of 10‑30 % by the patient. Eligibility depends on the severity of the visual defect (spherical values of ±10.00 dpt or cylinder of 0.00 dpt, including prism lenses) and varies by age: children may receive assistance every six months, while adults are eligible once every two years.
