Poland's National Revenue Administration finds 120 billion PLN in irregularities

The National Revenue Administration (KAS) has conducted extensive audits of public fund management across 177 entities, including ministries, government offices, state institutes, and non-governmental organizations. The Ministry of Finance reported that the total value of identified irregularities exceeds 120 billion PLN.

Key findings include issues with the granting and settlement of subsidies, the misuse of public funds contrary to financial plans, and the economic unjustified creation of certain public institutions. Auditors also noted improper use of general and targeted budget reserves and actions taken without adequate legal basis.

As a result of these findings, directors of tax administration chambers have filed 255 notifications with the prosecutor's office regarding potential crimes involving amounts exceeding 106 billion PLN. Additionally, 131 notifications were submitted to the Public Finance Discipline Ombudsman concerning suspected violations of public finance management rules.
