Poland's National Revenue Administration sees rise in whistleblower reports

The National Revenue Administration (KAS) in Poland received 45,500 whistleblower reports regarding potential irregularities during the first half of the year. This represents a 20.2% increase compared to the same period last year and a 28.1% increase compared to the first half of 2024.

Experts suggest this rise does not necessarily indicate a higher scale of legal violations. The increase may stem from greater civic awareness, easier access to reporting channels, or discussions regarding whistleblower protections. However, data from selected tax administration chambers shows that more than half of the reports—and in some provinces, between 70% and 85%—are not substantiated by facts. This suggests that reports may also be driven by personal or business conflicts.
