Poland approves non‑cash senior care voucher worth up to 3,410 zł

The Polish Sejm passed legislation creating a new senior benefit, the "bon senioralny," for citizens aged 65 and over whose average monthly income does not exceed 3,410 zł. The non‑cash voucher will fund short‑term assistance—up to two weeks—covering daily tasks such as dressing, meal preparation, household upkeep, health‑service navigation and social contact.

Implementation will begin in 2026 and roll out gradually in municipalities that lack public senior‑care services. The program is financed by a total state budget allocation of 1 billion zł over 2026‑2028 (100 m zł in 2026, 400 m zł in 2027, 500 m zł in 2028) and will be administered by local governments as part of three‑year governmental care programmes. The measure is part of Poland’s National Recovery Plan and aims to improve long‑term care coordination for older adults.
