Poland's retail sector expands with flower vending machines and new workforce models

Flower vending machines, known as "kwiatomaty," are rapidly spreading across Polish cities, mirroring the growth of parcel lockers. The market now reaches hundreds of millions of złoty, positioning Poland as a European leader in automated flower sales. These machines have become a permanent feature of urban retail, offering last‑minute purchases and helping florists cut operating costs.

At the same time, Polish retailers are rethinking staff management. Experts at the VIII Forum Retail Challenge Poland 2027, including Katarzyna Klimkiewicz and Dominika Beblo, highlighted that younger workers expect fast information access, clear communication, flexible structures and a partnership‑based leadership style. Technology is seen as an enabler rather than a replacement, supporting efficient processes and collaborative cultures in the retail environment.
