Poland's Road Construction Museum displays historic machines, rare Porsche AP18 tractor

The Road Construction Museum (Muzeum Drogownictwa) near Szczucin in southern Poland is built to resemble a massive bridge, with a 51‑metre Baileya bridge extending onto a 1.5‑km outdoor skansen. The site showcases more than 100 historic road‑building machines, from ancient Cretan road surfaces to modern equipment, and offers interactive exhibits for visitors of all ages.

During the annual Łowickie Harvest Festival held at the nearby Maurzyce skansen, a red Porsche AP18 tractor attracted particular attention. The tractor, unchanged since its early‑1950s production, was brought by collector Michał Nalepa of the Museum of Caravanning named after Tadeusz Sakowski. It is now used for occasional demonstrations and recreational towing within the museum grounds.
