Poland's Rossmann pulls coconut flakes after safety alert

Polish sanitary authorities issued an urgent warning about a single batch of LEO good foods coconut flakes sold in Rossmann stores. The batch (VN/II/26, best‑before 01‑05‑2027) was found to contain sulphur‑dioxide derivatives above the permitted level, and the presence of this allergen was not clearly indicated on the label.

The distributor, SNS Foods, and retailer Rossmann have begun withdrawing the product from shelves and placing notices for customers who purchased the affected packs. The public health institute advises anyone with a sulphite sensitivity to avoid the product, as consumption could trigger allergic reactions. The State Sanitary Inspection continues to monitor the recall and conduct a follow‑up investigation.
