Poland's Smallest.ai Secures $13M Funding Amid New AI-Labeling Regulations

Smallest.ai, a Polish startup founded in late 2024, is developing a compact voice model that aims to make conversations with AI agents indistinguishable from human dialogue. The company raised $13 million in a Series A round led by Seligman Ventures, with participation from Sierra Ventures and 3one4 Capital, bringing total investment to over $21 million. CEO Sudarshan Kamath says the model processes speech in real time, reducing latency compared with large language models.

Effective 2 August, Poland introduced regulations requiring that any AI‑generated content be clearly labeled to users. The rule applies to communications such as chat, email and media, ensuring that people are informed when they are interacting with artificial intelligence rather than a human. The legislation aims to increase transparency and curb misuse of AI‑generated messages.
