Poland's Supreme Administrative Court rejects PiS funding cassation

The Supreme Administrative Court (NSA) dismissed a cassation filed by the Law and Justice party (PiS) concerning the court’s earlier ruling that denied the party a third tranche of its 2024 state subvention, amounting to about 6.48 million zł. The decision upheld the earlier judgment that the State Electoral Commission had rejected PiS’s financial report, leading to a reduction of the party’s annual subvention by more than 10 million zł.

Finance Minister Andrzej Domański announced the ruling on the social platform X, and Prime Minister Donald Tusk used the outcome to criticize PiS, describing it as a “crushing blow” for the party. PiS had already received two full quarterly payments and a reduced fourth instalment, totaling roughly 15 million zł for 2024, far below the expected amount.
