Poland's Territorial Defence Starts Blood Donation Campaign for Warsaw Uprising

From 1 July to 31 August 2026, Poland’s Territorial Defence Forces together with the Honorary Blood Donors Association are running a nationwide Honorary Blood Donation Campaign to commemorate the Warsaw Uprising. The initiative aims to honour the 1944 insurgents and to boost the public blood supply during the summer months when demand peaks. The 5th Mazowiecka Brigade of the Territorial Defence also participates, illustrating the link between military service and humanitarian aid.

The campaign’s highlight will be a Uniform‑Health Picnic on 25 July 2026 at the PGE Narodowy stadium in Warsaw. The event will feature a blood‑donation drive, military equipment displays, a health zone, family attractions and promotional stands. Donations can be made at all Regional Blood Donation and Treatment Centres until 31 August under the slogan “Powstanie Warszawskie”. Organisers invite anyone able to give blood to join the effort.
