Poland's youth squads vie for medals at European championships

Poland's U‑20 handball team finished third in Group F at the 2026 European Championships, missing the main round and moving to the consolation bracket for a possible ninth‑place finish against Bosnia‑Herzegovina and Israel.

The U‑20 women's basketball team recorded six wins and one loss, securing fifth place after a one‑point defeat (80‑79) to Israel that ended medal hopes. Lithuanian guard Mantas Juzenas set a tournament record with 46 points in the earlier loss to Lithuania.

Polish junior table‑tennis players, both the boys’ (U‑15) and girls’ (U‑15) squads, advanced to the semifinals of the European Team Championships, guaranteeing spots in the medal rounds.

The U‑18 men’s volleyball team won all five group‑stage matches, including a 3‑1 victory over Italy and a straight‑set win over Finland, positioning the side just one win away from the semifinals and a potential medal.
