Poland’s Villages Złockie and Pławniowice Draw Tourists to Quiet Spas and Historic Palaces

The small village of Złockie in the Beskid Sądecki region of Lesser Poland has become a sought‑after spa destination since receiving official spa status in 2022. Its clean air, mineral‑rich “szczawy” waters and mountain scenery attract visitors looking for a quieter alternative to crowded resorts. Plans for a new promenade and water‑mineral points, funded with over nine million zlotys, are slated for completion in 2027.

Meanwhile, the village of Pławniowice in the Silesian voivodeship, about 20 km from Gliwice, is gaining attention for its impressive 18th‑century palace and surrounding landscape park. The manor, originally built by industrialist Franciszek II Ballestrem, has been restored and now hosts cultural events, exhibitions and concerts. Both sites illustrate a growing trend of rural Polish locales leveraging historic and natural assets to attract tourists seeking tranquil recreation.
