Poland's wages surge past Slovakia and its millionaire class grows fastest in Europe

Poland's average gross monthly wage reached 9,813 PLN (about €2,317) in December 2025, roughly €700 more than Slovakia's 1,611 EUR average in the first quarter of 2026. The median wage was 7,907 PLN, with year‑on‑year growth of 7.8% for the average and 8.8% for the median. Public‑sector salaries averaged 11,389 PLN, while private‑sector wages were 9,083 PLN. The highest average pay was recorded in the information and communication sector at 15,610 PLN, and a gender pay gap persisted (men 10,087 PLN vs. women 9,533 PLN). The Polish statistical office also noted that S&P Dow Jones may upgrade Poland to a developed market by September 2027.

A Knight Frank Wealth Report projects Poland to rank third worldwide for the fastest increase in ultra‑wealthy individuals. Those with assets of at least $30 million are expected to rise from 3,017 in 2026 to 4,906 by 2031 (+63%). The number of billionaires could more than double, from 13 to 29 (+123%). This rapid accumulation of wealth places Poland behind only Indonesia and Saudi Arabia in global growth rates.
