Poland's wedding gift trends favor cash envelopes, avoid oversized or symbolic items
A recent survey of 1,023 Polish adults found that 74.1% of respondents consider an envelope with money the best wedding present. About one‑third (32.8%) prefer plain cash, while 41.3% favor a cash envelope with a small token, reflecting a blend of practical support and symbolic gesture.
Experts advise against giving large home‑decor items such as framed art, sculptures, lamps or furniture, as well as superstitious objects like scissors, knives, clocks, mirrors, or pearls, which are believed to bring bad luck to the newlyweds. Practical small appliances and textiles may still be problematic if the couple already has a fully equipped household before the wedding.
