Poland's Wejherowo and Racibórz counties face hazardous road conditions

Dense fog and wet roads have reduced visibility and lengthened braking distances in the Wejherowo county of northern Poland. Police urge drivers to slow down, keep a safe distance, use appropriate lights and avoid overtaking, stressing that conditions can change abruptly within a few hundred metres.

In the southern Racibórz county, intense rain and storms have caused more than 130 fire‑brigade interventions. Fallen trees, flooding and three blocked overpasses have rendered many roads impassable. A second‑degree storm warning has been issued, with rain up to 55 mm, wind gusts of 65 km/h and occasional hail. Additional fire‑brigade units from nearby towns have been deployed, and authorities advise residents to limit travel and follow official instructions.
