Poland's Świętokrzyskie Region Highlights Tourist Attractions

Tourism officials in Poland are urging visitors to explore the Świętokrzyskie region, promoting a range of natural, historic and cultural sites. In Powiat Kielecki, attractions include the summit of Łysica, the historic Dąb Bartek oak, Chęciny Royal Castle, the Holy Cross on Łysiec, museums such as the Village Museum in Tokarnia and the Świętokrzyski Sztetl, as well as recreational areas like the Raj Cave, protected swimming lakes and cycling routes.

A radio programme also suggests weekend trips from Kielce to nearby towns such as Tomaszów Mazowiecki. Highlights of these excursions feature the Konewka railway bunker – one of Europe’s largest World‑War‑II underground shelters, with a 380‑metre long tunnel and thick reinforced‑concrete walls – and the quartz‑sand Groty Nagórzyckie caves, both open to tourists for guided tours and exhibitions.
