Poland's youth squads beat Slovenia in European handball and volleyball

Poland's U20 men’s handball team lost to Slovenia 34‑40 in the opening match of the European Championship in Romania, with standout performances from Slovenia’s Aljus Anžič (15 goals) and Poland’s Gabriel Bieniek (four goals). The defeat leaves the Polish side looking ahead to its next group game against the Czech Republic.

In a separate competition, Poland’s U18 men’s volleyball team secured a straight‑sets 3‑0 victory over Slovenia (26‑24, 25‑23, 26‑24) at the European Championship in Italy. The win, their second of the tournament, kept Poland unbeaten and set up further group matches against Turkey, Italy, Finland, Greece and Serbia.
