Poland's ZUS raises pension account values and outlines teacher compensation payouts
In June, Poland's Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) applied its annual valuation, increasing the amount recorded on pension accounts by 9.81% and on sub‑accounts by 10.61%. The adjustment, based on inflation and GDP growth, will raise future pension calculations for insured individuals.
ZUS also detailed the teacher compensation scheme, noting that in March 2026 an average of 4,465 PLN was paid monthly to eligible educators. The benefit is available to teachers with at least 30 years of service who have reached the prescribed retirement age, which is being gradually raised for both women and men. Recipients may not continue working in schools or kindergartens while receiving the compensation.
