Polar releases OS6 software update for six smartwatch models

Polar has released a major free software update, Polar OS6, for six of its smartwatch models: the Vantage V3, Vantage M3, Grit X2 Pro, Grit X2, Ignite 3, and Street X. The update is designed to reduce user reliance on the Polar Flow smartphone application by bringing more functionality directly to the wrist.

Key features include nine new trend graphs that allow users to view historical data—such as sleep summaries, heart rate, HRV, breathing rate, and weight—directly on the watch. Users can also now adjust sport profile settings on the device itself rather than through a phone sync. Additionally, most models (excluding the Ignite 3) now feature a customizable upper-left button that can be programmed for specific shortcuts during daily use or training.

To improve long-term battery health, the update introduces an optional 80% charging limit. The update also includes a menu redesign and brings watch faces from the Street X collection to other OLED models.
