PPG Industries posts Q2 2026 revenue rise but earnings miss expectations

PPG Industries reported second‑quarter 2026 revenue of $4.5 billion, a 7 % year‑over‑year increase that beat the FactSet consensus estimate of $4.37 billion. Net income fell to $439 million from $450 million a year earlier, and adjusted earnings per share were $2.23, below the $2.25 forecast. CEO Tim Knavish said the company outperformed the sector by 300 basis points and achieved 4 % organic growth across all three segments and eight of nine businesses. The firm reaffirmed its full‑year adjusted EPS guidance of $7.70‑$8.10. After the release, PPG shares rose about 3.5 % in after‑hours trading, while rivals Axalta and Sherwin‑Williams posted share gains of 5 % and 8 % respectively. In a related filing, Sherwin‑Williams also reported a 7.5 % sales increase to $6.79 billion and an 11.8 % rise in net income.
