Polaris Tours launches Meer. Weit Reisen expedition cruise brand

Polaris Tours has launched a new brand, Meer. Weit Reisen, focusing on expedition cruises using smaller vessels to access remote destinations. The program aims to provide alternatives to large-scale ocean liners by navigating away from major maritime routes.

Utilizing Swan Hellenic's new builds, which accommodate fewer than 200 guests, the service offers 5-star luxury while targeting destinations such as the Seychelles, Galapagos, and the West Coast of Africa. The fleet includes a variety of vessels ranging from expedition ships and luxury motor yachts to traditional river cruisers. Managing Director Reinhard Tanner stated that the smaller ship size allows for greater exploration of the world's currents, lagoons, and archipelagos.
