PolarUsh cluster launched to drive Antarctic development
The PolarUsh cluster was officially launched in Ushuaia, organized by Fundación FINNOVA. This multisectoral network aims to coordinate productive, logistical, touristic, academic, scientific, and technological actors involved in Antarctic activities to promote innovation and specialized services.
Representatives from the Municipality of Río Grande and Río Grande Activa participated in the event to integrate the city's productive capacity into the provincial development strategy. Officials emphasized the goal of transforming Ushuaia’s geographic position as a gateway to Antarctica into a competitive advantage through improvements in infrastructure, technology, logistics, and human resources.
During the launch, FINNOVA presented an Antarctic Competitiveness Analysis, which outlines the strengths and challenges of the region in managing Antarctic-related operations and services.
