Polícia Federal opens new Advanced Base in Bom Jesus, Piauí
The Brazilian Federal Police (Polícia Federal) has officially commenced operations at its new Advanced Base in Bom Jesus, located in southwestern Piauí. The launch follows a technical inspection by the Federal Police Building Working Group to ensure the facility meets operational requirements.
The base was established through a Technical Cooperation Agreement between the Federal Police and the Municipality of Bom Jesus. The facility, which was provided by the Secretariat of Union Heritage and renovated by the municipality, will serve as a strategic support hub for police and administrative activities in the southern part of the state.
Key functions of the new unit include supporting investigations, judicial police actions, intelligence, and inter-institutional integration. Additionally, the base will focus on combating federal environmental crimes, particularly in the MATOPIBA region and within Federal Conservation Units in the southwest. The facility will also provide public services, such as passport applications and the registration of federal police reports.
