Polícia Militar do Paraná celebrates 172 years

The Military Police of Paraná (PMPR) celebrated its 172nd anniversary with ceremonies held in Paranaguá and Cambé. Founded in 1854, the institution currently operates across all 399 municipalities in the state of Paraná.

In Paranaguá, at the 9th Military Police Battalion, the event included civil and military authorities, such as Mayor Adriano Ramos, and featured the presentation of medals to officers recognized for bravery and long-term service. The ceremony emphasized the integration between the PMPR and municipal security forces.

In Cambé, a similar ceremony took place at the headquarters of the 11th Independent Company. Local officials and community representatives attended to honor the institution's history in crime prevention and public order. The event included awards for officers marking 10, 20, and 30 years of service, as well as recognition for outstanding performance during the month.
