Polda Metro Jaya investigates fatal shooting of police officer in South Tangerang

The Polda Metro Jaya police force has confirmed it is conducting a professional and transparent investigation into a fatal shooting at the Mako Polairud Pondok Cabe in Pamulang, South Tangerang. The incident, which occurred around 05:30 WIB on Friday, October 16, 2026, resulted in the death of Bharatu Laurentius Valdo Fernandez Lewai, a member of the Directorate of Air Police (Ditpoludara).

Authorities have detained the suspect, identified by the initials AR, who is also a member of the Indonesian National Police. AR is currently undergoing intensive questioning by investigators from the Subdit Jatanras Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya to uncover the facts surrounding the event.
