Polda Metro Jaya launches WhatsApp channel for public complaints

Polda Metro Jaya has launched a new communication channel via WhatsApp to increase transparency and public engagement. Police Commissioner Dadang Hartanto announced the initiative to allow residents in the DKI Jakarta area and surrounding regions to submit aspirations, criticisms, or complaints directly to police leadership.

The goal of this digital channel is to reduce bureaucratic hurdles that often discourage citizens from reporting issues. The service is intended for reporting criminal activities, expressing dissatisfaction with field officers, and providing constructive suggestions for institutional improvement. The police have pledged to maintain the confidentiality of all reports, particularly sensitive matters requiring witness protection.
