Indonesian law enforcement reports multiple arrests and investigations

Various law enforcement and regional authorities in Indonesia are conducting operations to address crime and environmental safety. In North Sumatra, the regional police (Polda Sumut) reported the resolution of 28 aggravated theft cases involving 29 suspects within a 24-hour period.

In Riau, police successfully captured a fugitive identified as JA, who was the alleged mastermind behind the escape of 11 inmates from the Kampar Police Station in May 2025. JA had been on the run for 16 months before being apprehended in Tapung District.

In South Sulawesi, an active police officer from the Pangkep Police is under investigation by the Propam division for alleged involvement in a theft occurring in the Maros region. The suspect reportedly acted after being approached by a former police officer.

Additionally, the West Sulawesi Police (Polda Sulbar) conducted night patrols in Mamuju to monitor high-risk areas, including ports and vital objects, to prevent street crime and disturbances. Meanwhile, in South Sumatra, the Kodam II/Sriwijaya commander urged local village heads to educate the public against land clearing through burning to prevent forest and land fires.
