Polenergia cancels hydrogen refueling station projects

Polenergia has announced its withdrawal from the construction of public hydrogen refueling stations in Rzeszów and Nowa Sarzyna. Its subsidiary, Polenergia H2HB Nowa Sarzyna, terminated a funding agreement with the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) on August 24.

The project was slated to receive 20 million PLN in subsidies, covering approximately 43 percent of the qualified investment costs. However, the company confirmed that no funds from the grant had been disbursed. The termination was reached through a mutual agreement between the subsidiary and NFOŚiGW, with both parties confirming there are no mutual claims.

This decision aligns with the Polenergia Group's strategy through 2030, which involves a gradual withdrawal from investment activities in the hydrogen and electromobility sectors. The group continues to focus on renewable energy, particularly wind power and offshore projects in the Baltic Sea.
