Polestar sponsors 2026 Tongyeong Gran Fondo cycling event

Polestar, the Swedish premium electric vehicle brand, served as the main sponsor for the ‘2026 Tongyeong Gran Fondo’ held on the 17th in Tongyeong, Gyeongsangnam-do. The long-distance cycling event drew over 2,000 riders through coastal roads and mountainous terrain.

Polestar Korea provided 13 electric vehicles for the event, including the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4. The Polestar 4 models functioned as team cars, utilizing their interior space and roof carriers to transport equipment and spare bicycles, while the Polestar 3 models were positioned at the front and rear of the peloton to guide the riders. To promote sustainability, the company also collaborated with Tetra Pak Korea to provide 2,500 paper-packaged water bottles to participants.

Ham Jong-seong, representative of Polestar Korea, stated that the sponsorship allowed the brand to communicate its values of performance and sustainability. Separately, Polestar reported record monthly sales in South Korea, with 769 new registrations in September, bringing its year-to-date total to 3,719 units.
