Polestar to launch SUV version of Polestar 4 on 2 September

Swedish electric‑vehicle brand Polestar announced that a sport‑utility‑vehicle version of the Polestar 4 will begin commercial sales on 2 September. The new model retains the same 400‑volt architecture and 102 kWh battery as the existing coupé, and will be offered with either a single rear‑motor (272 hp) or a dual‑motor (544 hp) drivetrain. The rear‑wheel‑drive variant is WLTP‑rated for a maximum range of 630 km.

Production of the Polestar 4 SUV will take place at Renault’s plant in Busan, South Korea, the same facility that currently builds the Polestar 4 coupé and other Renault models. Polestar continues its contract‑manufacturing approach, using plants operated by Volvo Cars and Geely in China and by FCA in the United States for other models. The company has not disclosed pricing or delivery dates for the SUV, noting that the least‑expensive Polestar 4 coupé sells for about €65,000. The first Polestar model to be built in Europe will be the Polestar 7 at Volvo’s future plant in Košice, Slovakia, slated for 2028.
