Italy infrastructure: various regional roadworks and bypass openings
Various regional infrastructure projects and road maintenance works are underway across Italy. In Lombardy, the first 4 km of the Casalpusterlengo bypass on the SS 9 Via Emilia have opened to traffic, with full completion expected by spring 2027. Additionally, a new road link between Seveso and Cesano Maderno has been inaugurated.
In Basilicata, technical assessments are being conducted to safely reopen the SP3 Tirrena between Maratea and Trecchina following rockfalls. Meanwhile, a new roundabout has opened on the SS407 Basentana in Pisticci. In Calabria, work has been completed on a bypass for the SP5 in Verbicaro to mitigate landslide risks.
Other notable updates include planned closures of the A4/A57 junction near Venice for structural maintenance, night closures on the Tangenziale Est for paving, and urban improvements in Ancona, where a project offers subsidies for anti-graffiti treatments, and in Reggio Emilia, involving streetscape upgrades near the station.
