Suzanne Schulting to focus on long track speed skating

Dutch speed skater Suzanne Schulting has announced she will not participate in short track competitions during the first part of the new season. The 29-year-old Team Essent athlete intends to focus on long track speed skating due to a tight competition schedule.

Additionally, the KNSB has updated the selection criteria for the team pursuit World Cups. Under the new rules, national coach Rintje Ritsma will no longer appoint skaters for the first two World Cups; instead, the winners of the Dutch National Championships will represent the country in those specific events. Ritsma will resume selection authority for the third World Cup, the sixth World Cup in Calgary, and the World Championships.
