Police and KTFF announce new football security plan

Police General Director Ali Adalıer and Turkish Cypriot Football Federation (KTFF) President Hasan Sertoğlu have met to establish a comprehensive security plan for the upcoming football season. The meeting focused on preventing violence, insults, fighting, and disturbances in stadiums and surrounding areas.

Key measures include the creation of a coordination mechanism between the Police General Directorate and the KTFF to manage security before, during, and after matches. High-risk matches, such as derbies or championship-deciding games, will be identified in advance to increase police presence.

To prevent clashes, fan entry and exit times will be regulated, and separate routes will be established for opposing supporters. Security at stadium entrances will be tightened with increased searches for bags and prohibited items, such as sharp objects or flammable materials. Additionally, the KTFF committed to applying disciplinary penalties more decisively, while police will implement faster interventions against physical assaults, threats, and public disorder.
