Police arrest 18-year-old suspects in separate drug trafficking cases

In separate law enforcement actions, authorities in Peru and the United States have arrested 18-year-old suspects involved in drug trafficking operations.

In Pisco, Peru, police apprehended Piero Jesús Taipe García, known as “Pieracho,” during an operation on Seminario Avenue. Taipe García was wanted for the micro-commercialization or micro-production of drugs. During the arrest, the suspect attempted to evade officers by fleeing through residential areas. Authorities reported that he was in possession of a firearm loaded with 12 rounds of ammunition.

In Ventura County, California, 18-year-old Dylan Ruiz of Oxnard was arrested following an investigation into the distribution of narcotics to high school and middle school students. Detectives from the Ventura County Fentanyl and Overdose Crimes Unit identified Ruiz as a supplier of illegal narcotics, marijuana, and nicotine. The investigation, prompted by parental concerns regarding student behavior and academic performance, revealed that some narcotics were packaged in colorful containers with cartoon designs to appeal to minors.
