Police arrest drug dealer in Ried district

Authorities in the Ried district of Austria have arrested a 46-year-old man accused of professional drug trafficking. The arrest took place in Utzenaich following a dispute with his former partner.

Investigations suggest the suspect acted as a central figure in a profitable narcotics trade involving intermediaries from Germany, the Czech Republic, and Austria. The operation allegedly involved ordering drugs via the darknet, which were then sent from Germany to parcel stations near the German-Austrian border. The suspect is accused of smuggling these substances to his residence, portioning them, and redistributing them within Austria.

Police seized various narcotics, cutting agents, and sales equipment during a search of his home. The substances reportedly included methamphetamine, amphetamine, cocaine, heroin, cannabis, and ketamine. The suspect is alleged to have supplied two other distributors and at least 15 users in the Ried im Innkreis and Schärding districts.
