Police arrest homicide suspect in Mato Grosso do Sul

A 29-year-old man has been arrested in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, for the murder of 27-year-old Diego Padilha. The homicide occurred in the early hours of May 31 near a nightclub in the Ouro Branco do Sul district, located in the municipality of Itiquira, Mato Grosso.

According to investigators, the victim died at the scene after being struck multiple times with a blade. Following the incident, the suspect fled the region to evade authorities.

The arrest was the result of an integrated operation between the Civil Police of Mato Grosso and the Civil Police of Mato Grosso do Sul. The Itiquira Police Station led the investigation, which secured a preventive arrest warrant. The capture in Campo Grande was supported by the Specialized Station for the Repression of Bank Robberies, Assaults, and Kidnappings (GARRAS) from Mato Grosso do Sul. The suspect has been placed at the disposal of the justice system.
