Police arrest individuals for illegal firearm possession in Honduras and Mexico

Authorities in Honduras and Mexico have conducted separate operations resulting in the seizure of firearms and arrests.

In Marcovia, Choluteca, a 45-year-old man was detained after police discovered six shotguns hidden inside a nylon sack. The individual lacked legal documentation for the weapons. The firearms have been sent to the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Choluteca for ballistic testing to determine if they are linked to recent violent crimes in the region.

In Atoyac, Jalisco, state highway police arrested a 29-year-old man while he was traveling by bicycle. Officers recovered a .20 caliber shotgun with one round in the chamber and four additional cartridges. Additionally, the suspect was found in possession of a dead armadillo inside a backpack. The individual was handed over to the Federal Attorney General's Office to investigate potential wildlife poaching violations.
