Police arrest individuals in Miyazaki and Fukushima for violent crimes

In Nobeoka, Miyazaki Prefecture, a 41-year-old unemployed man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after allegedly stabbing his wife with a kitchen knife. The suspect has denied the allegations.

In Koriyama, Fukushima Prefecture, 27-year-old Satoshi Kataoka, a restaurant owner, has been re-arrested for the murder of his 23-year-old sister, Yuri Konnai. Investigations revealed that Kataoka allegedly strangled Konnai with a cord inside a vehicle parked in a local parking lot. Security camera footage suggests the attack lasted approximately 20 minutes. Kataoka, who had previously been arrested for abandoning the body at his home, reportedly had financial disputes with the victim, who worked at his establishment. The same vehicle was allegedly used for both the killing and the disposal of the body.
