Police arrest individuals in separate Australian theft investigations
Police in different regions of Australia have made several arrests following investigations into theft and burglary spates.
In Victoria, five individuals—three men and two women—were charged following an investigation into more than 25 alleged shop thefts and vehicle crimes in the Cranbourne, Clyde, Hampton Park, and Narre Warren areas. During a search of a property on Lyall Street, officers seized televisions, electronic devices, lithium batteries, a repainted Vespa scooter, and a substantial amount of copper. Illicit drugs, including cannabis and cocaine, were also recovered.
In Tasmania, a 42-year-old man from Campbell Town was arrested and charged with 32 offences, including 11 counts of burglary and four counts of attempted burglary, following a string of business break-ins in the Launceston CBD. Police conducted three searches of a house in Newnham, where stolen property was located. The suspect is scheduled to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court.
