Police arrest man for stealing incense money from Neihu temple

Police have arrested a man surnamed Huang for stealing incense money from a Tu Di Gong temple in Neihu. The thefts occurred over two consecutive days during the early morning hours, coinciding with a period of increased donations around the deity's birthday.

Investigators used surveillance footage to identify the suspect and track his movements across several areas, including Jinshan, Wanli, and Ruifang in New Taipei City, as well as Keelung. Due to the suspect's mobile nature, the Neihu Police Precinct collaborated with the Keelung City Police Department to exchange intelligence and set an ambush.

Officers successfully apprehended Huang in the Keelung area. He has been transferred to the Keelung District Prosecutors Office on charges of theft and for being a wanted suspect.
