Police arrest man in Waldsassen following insult and e-bike theft investigation

A 40-year-old man was arrested in Waldsassen after allegedly insulting a supermarket employee. During a subsequent police stop on the B 299 heading toward the Czech border, officers discovered two high-value e-bikes, brands Cube and Bulls, in his vehicle.

Initial investigations suggest the bicycles may have been stolen from a residential cellar in Obertraubling, with damages estimated at approximately 10,000 euros. Police also seized burglary tools and unauthorized medication during the stop.

The suspect, who tested positive for alcohol and drugs and was unable to produce a driver's license, faces multiple charges including aggravated theft, driving under the influence, and driving without a license. A judge has issued an arrest warrant following consultation with the Regensburg prosecutor's office.
