Police arrest motorcyclists for traffic violations in Brazil

Police in Rio de Janeiro state have conducted several arrests involving motorcycle violations in Búzios and Teresópolis.

In Búzios, a motorcyclist was arrested after being approached by the Military Police on Avenida José Bento Ribeiro Dantas. The individual was riding a Yamaha Fazer 150 without a license plate and was not wearing a helmet. Following a breathalyzer test, the driver tested positive for alcohol consumption. The individual was charged with driving under the influence and tampering with vehicle identification signals.

In Teresópolis, authorities arrested a man for performing dangerous maneuvers, known locally as ‘grau’, on the Estrada da Água Quente. The suspect did not possess a driver's license and was riding a motorcycle with a makeshift license plate and signs of engine number tampering. This incident is part of a recent surge in Teresópolis, with four similar cases involving dangerous riding, lack of documentation, and noise disturbances reported by the Military Police since the previous weekend.
