Police arrest murder suspect in Honduras and capture Brazilian fugitive in Bolivia

In Honduras, the Dirección Policial de Investigaciones (DPI) arrested a 24-year-old man suspected of the kidnapping and murder of Ingrid Gabriela Cruz Martínez. The victim's body was discovered in a mountainous area of El Mirador de Zambrano, showing signs of violence. Before the discovery, her family had received WhatsApp messages demanding 10,000 lempiras for her release. Authorities believe the suspect, who was the victim's partner, provided information regarding the location of the body.

In Bolivia, police in Pando captured Matheus Campanerutti Pinheiro, a Brazilian national and alleged member of the Comando Vermelho who had escaped from a prison in Acre, Brazil. The arrest followed a police operation in the Marapaní community that escalated into a shootout. Pinheiro, who is wanted in Brazil for a 2017 student murder, was wounded during the exchange and taken to intensive care. During the operation, authorities seized a firearm, mobile phones, and quantities of marijuana and cocaine.
