Police arrest rape suspect on interstate bus in Minas Gerais

A 40-year-old man wanted for the suspected rape of a vulnerable person was arrested by the Federal Highway Police (PRF) on Wednesday in São Sebastião da Bela Vista, Minas Gerais.

The suspect was traveling on an interstate bus route from Mossoró, Rio Grande do Norte, to São Paulo when he was intercepted during a lunch stop on the Fernão Dias Highway (BR-381). The arrest was the result of cooperation between the PRF and the Civil Police of Rio Grande do Norte.

A warrant had been issued by the Rio Grande do Norte judiciary on September 5 following an incident in the municipality of Governador Dix-Sept Rosado on September 3. After being identified, the man was taken to the Civil Police Station in Pouso Alegre for processing.
