Police arrest suspect in death of TikTok creator Jovia Namuwulya

Kampala Metropolitan Police have arrested Patricia Rose Turindamukama in connection with the stabbing death of 22-year-old TikTok creator and waitress Jovia Namuwulya. The arrest took place on August 24, 2026, at a residence in Mbuya, Nakawa Division.

Namuwulya was discovered dead on August 20 in her rented room in the Mukalazi Zone of Bukoto after relatives were unable to reach her by phone. Upon entering the room, family members and a caretaker observed blood stains and found the victim lying in a pool of blood.

Police spokesperson Racheal Kawala stated that Turindamukama, who had been living with Namuwulya, was reportedly planning to flee to Iraq. Investigations revealed that Turindamukama had applied for an Iraqi visa on August 21, one day after the incident. While various unverified claims have circulated on social media regarding a dispute involving a third party met via a dating app, police have not confirmed these specific allegations.
